LO1: Coco Chanel Mademoiselle advert analysis

The purpose of this advert is to advertise a new perfume by Chanel (Coco mademoiselle) they do this by using a popular attractive actress (Keira Knightly) to encourage women to buy the perfume so they can make a profit. The location is clearly  in france as it is a french perfume, and the only time she speaks in the advert she uses the French language, also vespas are also a very french thing, and she is on a vespa and her costume (which is Chanel) is clearly something you would wear if you use a vespa, since it is an all in one leather, there are also people in a similar thing when she reaches the traffic light, but they are male and dressed in black. The first shot of the scene is an establishing shot, but it also shows her vespa which she walks towards to ride.  At the start of the song which is played there are 5 strong beats which work well with the way she is walking, and starts the advert off well. throughout the start of the advert it shows where she is on her way to, she seems to be on her way to some sort of photo shoot, as you see people posing her and photographers taking snap shots of her. Sex is used to advertise in this  advert as it shows a short scene of the photographer removing her clothes and having an intimate moment, and then taking more snap shots of her. It shows towards the end how she leads the photographer on, she puts her finger to his lips and he goes to lock the door, and as he turns around she has disappeared, you then see her put the 'Coco mademoiselle' perfume back in her pocket, she makes out that the perfume is seductive, and that would be the purpose of the scene.

LO1: the one that got away.

The one that got away Katy Perry music video:
The Music video starts off with an extreme shot of a house. and then changes to a scene of an old man and the singer in a costume like an elder woman. you then see the elder woman having a flash back to one of her high school romances, her emotions show how she is still upset. The flash back shows a young couple painting portraits of one another. In the lyrics it says 'talk about our future like we had a clue' this is a foreshadow showing that they are both not going to have a future. you see two shots of the couple as they are young showing intimacy supporting the fact that they must have been in love. it then goes back to the present of the elder woman stroking the side of her bed, obviously meaning he isn't in her life anymore, it was as if she missed his presence or something, this makes you feel like something bad must have happened to him. the costume at the start of the video as the couple were young were plain, but then they switch to spontaneous dress up out fits like flared colourful trousers and started taking photographs of each other, representing they had fun together. the costumes in the scene after were formal and they were at a dance together. you see a scene of the younger couple tattooing matching tattoos onto each other which is still on the older woman in the present day. There is a two shot of the same girl in the present and past and the girl from the past looks at the older woman with a confused look, as if she doesn't understand, or she is just shocked. The younger couple are seen having an argument, it wasn't even a big argument, but it was big enough to cause the death of her boyfriend, he barges out the house leaving the girl in a state crying. you see him drive away then realize he's being silly and looks down at something that reminded him of her, but before he could turn back he crashed and went over a cliff. there is then a scene of the girl falling to the floor, connoting she is in pain emotionally and is distort. The last scene the elder woman visits where her boyfriend dyed, she is wearing all black, the ghost of her boyfriend appears putting is hand on hers and you can still see the love between them.

LO1: Wrecking ball.

Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball music video: The purpose of the music video is to advertise a song using a very famous singer. This song is about the singers ex fiancée, at the start it shows a close up of Mileys face and she is crying showing her emotion towards how she is feeling from the situation. She says how she 'fell under his spell' showing that his emotions were false and he led her on. She is shown with a sledge hammer which is one of her main props, and she is using it showing her anger by smashing down the walls, at this point she belts out the chorus supporting her anger. The song and the video shows mixed emotions, it shows her upset, it shows her angry, and it shows her love. You see her kissing a sledge hammer, the sledge hammer represents her ex fiancée who she is singing about, showing that she loves him even though he harmed her or that she secretly loves the pain. You can see walls that have been smashed down and a wrecking ball in the back she is left laying in what is left behind, showing that is all she has left, this shows that he broke her, she supports this when she sings 'you wrecked me.' Miley is shown swinging off a wrecking ball naked, this is showing how she has been destroyed, she is emotionally naked and stripped meaning how she is hurt on the inside. The main prop in the video is the wrecking ball, symbolizing a destructive love. for the rest of the video it flickers through all her emotions, anger, love and sadness. there weren't many costumes in the video since she was naked for most of it. but she is seen wearing white under pants and a white crop top, it is kept very plain so you could see the purpose of the video and her emotion without being distracted by what she is wearing, but she does keep her ox blood doc martens on all through the video.

LO1 Task 1: Analysis of audio-visual promos Sex And The City 2 trailer

 Sex and the city 2

The purpose of this trailer is to advertise the 2nd movie of Sex And The City, it intrigues the audience by showing the punch lines and the music they use in the background, which also links with the location 'Empire State of mind-Alicia Keys'  The trailer starts off by cutting from one shot to another in New York City to reveal the location then the four characters which appear on the screen in the four beats of the song, this makes it look very effective. Straight away you can tell the target audience of the film is adult females, as the main four characters are women in their mid 40's. The following part of the trailer shows a lot about struggling with families and marriage which also supports the target audience of females in their 40's. Before the date release appears, a rhetorical question is asked, "what happens after you say i do?" this connotes that the movie will be about finding the answer for this question. Straight after the question, there is a song change and a heavy beat appears which is very effective and fits the trailer well. Towards the end of the trailer the song is changed again which shows a change of an emotion, she sees a past lover and a heart beat sound is heard. Then the original Sex And The City theme tune is heard and the trailer shows the complications of the four women. The movie then completely ends with the four friends saying "we're soul mates." and then the title sequence appears. The main connotations of this trailer is High class fashion, New York, makeup, hair, Abu Dhabi (girls holiday) and love, this is all shown throughout the trailer with mis en scene- costumes of the characters and different camera work. The genre of this is Rom-com/drama, It is a feel good movie which stereotypically would be liked by the majority of females. The rating of the film is a '15' making it all pretty adult contemporary, this is probably because of the strong sexual references. The film has a strong female lead role making it more of a film directed to females.

Warp

It was warps 10th year last year, they are based in Sheffield opposite the train station. They have made many movies, for example,, their most popular four lions . 2 million in UK viewing online. Warp say that a good trailer has the most likley chance to intrigue the audience to watch a film, even thought its only a minute to two minutes long. Comedy and horror genres are the lowest budget films because they don't need famous hollywood actors, they just need to make you laugh or jump.
Dead man shoes is the first film warp brought out about a man who got bullied as a child.
Examples of good trailers which warp have recommended: Godzilla (2014) and Avengers assemble (2012)
These trailers cost about 3 million to make which was more than the movie.
